Institute. They’ve been awarded grants from NAMT and the Anna Sosenko Trust. As Dramatists Guild Fellows, they’ve been featured many times by the Guild and The Dramatists Guild Foundation, including in The Dramatists Magazine and online as part of a celebration of World Pride. Together they created Tank-aret, a monthly cabaret series at The Tank showcasing underrepresented artists. Their Grammy considered studio album Place and Time has an all-star Broadway cast and was featured in The Advocate.

EllaRose’s plays have been selected for the Great Plains Theatre Conference and the Jewish Playwriting Contest. She has been recognized as a Guest Artist/Lecturer at Harvard College, Kleban Award Finalist, NYFA Fellowship Finalist, Kernodle New Play Award Finalist, Doric Wilson Award Semi-Finalist and with Weston and BOH Cameronian Arts Awards. Her award-winning musical THE DOLL MAKER’S GIFT debuted at The Rose Theater in 2019. As an advocate for inclusion in musical theater she has been featured in American Theatre, written for The Lilly Awards Blog, HowlRound, Musical Theater Today (contributing editor), and served on panels at NYMF and with Honest Accomplice Theater. She’s been a member of The Civilians R & D Group and is currently a member of the New Georges Jam where she is an affiliated artist. 

Brandon is also known for their work as a music producer and piano bar entertainer.They produced and performed on the albums TWO BIRDS & ONE STONE by Trixie Mattel (Winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race Allstars 3), #1 iTunes/Billboard Charts. They composed theme music for George Takei's web series IT TAKEIS TWO, and co-wrote SMALL TOWN STORY (NAMT Grant, finalist, Village Theatre, American Theatre Group) and MATCHMAKER MATCHMAKER, I’M WILLING TO SETTLE (ART, NYMF). They won the Bistro Award’s Ira Eaker Award for Special Achievement for their tribute show FOUR PIANO (celebrating the legacy of singing pianists). They have been nominated for MAC Awards, Glam Awards and have won 4 Broadway World Awards for their work in piano bars and cabaret. They are a Recording Academy Member and Grammy Voter and member of Local 802 AFM, and ASCAP.

EllaRose Chary (she/hers) and Brando(n) James Gwinn (he/they) are an award-winning writing team specializing in stories that take a fresh look at the queer community with cutting-edge music. They are Richard Rodgers Award winners, Drama League Award nominees, and were featured in the Tank’s Obie-Award winning season. Their musical TL;DR: THELMA LOUISE; DYKE REMIX was featured in the NAMT Festival of New Musicals and received an Honorable Mention from the Relentless Award. 

They’ve been commissioned and produced by The Civilians at Encores! Off-Center at City Center and Joe's Pub, 54 Below, Theatre C, The Tank, UArts’ Polyphone Festival, All For One Theater, Prospect Theater, Millikin University and more. They’ve been in residence at Ars Nova, Rhinebeck Writers Retreat Triple R Residency, The O’Neill National Music Theatre Conference Incubator Residency (and conference Finalists), Roundabout Theatre, Bucks County Playhouse, Diversionary Theatre, Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre and Catwalk
